A driving license is an important document every person should carry when driving a vehicle as per the law. In Gujarat, the state transport department issues driving licenses to vehicle owners. In addition, it undertakes other functions such as vehicle registration, issuance of permits, and road tax collection. If you wish to apply for a driving license in Gujarat, you can submit an online application through the Parivahan Gujarat system.

Parivahan Gujarat: How to apply for a driving licence online?

Citizens can apply for a permanent driving licence in Gujarat through the Parivahan Sewa portal of the Ministry of Highways and Road Transport.

  • Select the state ‘Gujarat’ from the dropdown.
  • Click on ‘apply for driving license’ from the available options.
  • Go through the instructions and click on ‘continue’ button.
  • On the next page, submit details such as learner’s license, date of birth and other relevant details. Submit the form.
  • Upload relevant documents.
  • The user will be taken to the payment gateway. Complete the fee payment using a suitable payment mode. A payment receipt and acknowledgement slip will be created, containing the application number.
  • In the next step, applicants are required to book a slot for the DL test, which can be done online.

Applicants should visit the RTO on the mentioned appointment date and carry all the supporting documents. If the test is cleared, the driving licence will be sent within 30 days of the driving skill test.

Parivahan Gujarat: Driving licence application offline procedure

Approach the nearest RTO in your city. Get the application form, which is also available on the official website. Fill in the form with relevant details such as full name, father’s name, date of birth, place of birth, residential address, educational qualifications, blood group, etc. Submit the supporting documents. You will receive an appointment for the test. A learner’s license will be issued if the applicant clears the test. An application for a permanent driving licence can be submitted after 30 days and within six months.

Parivahan Gujarat learning licence

A citizen can apply for a permanent driving licence in Gujarat only after obtaining a learner’s licence from the transport department. One is required to follow a simple procedure on the Gujarat Parivahan portal as explained below:

  • Go to the Parivahan Sewa Gujarat transport department page. Choose ‘apply for learner licence’ option.
  • Click on ‘continue’ after reading the instructions.
  • Complete the application form. Upload the scanned copies of the supporting documents.

Complete the payment process. You will be required to book the slot for the learning licence test. Approach the nearest RTO to complete the test. The learning license will be sent to the registered address of the applicant after he, or she clears the test.

  • Open the Driving License related services menu on the official Parivahan portal https://parivahan.gov.in/parivahan/
  • Choose the state Gujarat.
  • Select DL Extract Print option under the list of Driving Licence services
  • Provide the application number and date of birth.
  • Enter OTP and click on Download link to download the DL Extract Copy.
